You will recall the five “I Wills” of Satan found in Isaiah 14:12
1) I Will Ascend into heaven.
2) I Will Exalt my throne above the stars of God.
3) I Will Sit upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north.
4) I Will Ascend above the heights of the clouds.
5) I Will Be like the most High.
And we know the nine fruit of the spirit found in Galatian5:22 “The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.”
So the question is “what – if anything, ties these two scriptures together?” Hmm…
I see five “I Will’s” and nine fruit, so there is not a direct correlation. Bummer. 🙁
While pondering this, I noticed the Isaiah scripture are all Externals, I will ascend, I will sit, etc., all EXTERNAL.
While in contrast, all nine fruit are all Internal traits that already exist within us; the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.” Handy skills to live by today, but, remember they already exist in the Internal you.
Each of these scriptures have been extensively studied, reviewed, and commented on in sermons, books, conferences, and TV programs. But, at the end of these processes, no matter how brilliant the minds are that reviewed the scriptures, their conclusions are basically their opinion! Well thought out, investigated and presented, but their conclusions are, nevertheless their opinion.
So, I wondered if we could get yet one more opinion. I wondered, WHAT IF these scriptures were reviewed by the great minds at Sesame Street 😉 Remember: Isaiah14:12 is basically about the externals, what we say and do. So, would the Sesame Street review look something like “Today’s scripture, Isaiah 14:12 is brought to you by the letter “E” As in the words External, Exaggerated, Empty and Ego!
In a similar fashion, if Sesame Street reviewed Galatians 5:22 (the Internal traits already existing in your life), would the Sesame Street review look a bit like “Today’s , Galatians 5:22, is brought to you by the letter “I”, as in the words Internal, Intimate, Intrinsic, and of course I AM in your life.
